“I have found my calling working as a psychologist and helping people make positive changes in their lives. I provide a safe setting in which you can let go of old self-defeating patterns and learn new more effective ways of coping with the problems you are experiencing. It provides me with great pleasure to see my clients grow, learn, and ultimately, get better.”

A Goal-Driven, Action-Oriented Approach to Therapy
“One of the first things I ask my clients is about their goals for therapy. That is, where do you want to go in life and what is stopping you from getting there?”
I specialize in the pioneering form of cognitive behavior therapy called Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT). This direct, goal-oriented approach to psychotherapy maintains that the way you think largely influences the way you feel. When you gain a better understanding of what thoughts are helpful versus unhelpful, and when you learn more effective coping strategies, then you will start to feel better.
My training in psychotherapy was under the direct supervision of Dr. Albert Ellis, who was the founder of REBT. Dr. Ellis was the author of more than 50 publications and has been named as the second most influential psychologist of all time. He was a wonderful mentor and I apply his teachings both in my work and in my daily life.
Providing Help to People in Different Ways
“Whether it has been helping executives in a corporate setting or individuals and groups in a clinical setting, the ultimate goal is the same, to help people make improvements in their lives and reach their goals.”
Throughout my career as a psychologist, I have helped people in both corporate and clinical settings. In the corporate world, I helped individuals at the top of the organization become more effective leaders. I also helped individuals and groups cope with the psychological challenges and crises that arise in the workplace. These include but are not limited to, anxiety about job and organizational changes, frustration with dissatisfying work relationships, and conflict and tension among group members.
Over the years, I respecialized to a purely clinical realm. While in practice in New York City, I helped the residents cope with the rise in anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and addictions after 9/11. I also helped my clients cope with are variety of other personal problems including anger management, procrastination, perfectionism, relationship challenges, sexual dysfunction, infertility, and parenting issues.
